適應症：本藥是殺菌性頭孢子菌抗生素、對多種乙內醯胺有抵抗力、並對廣範圍的革蘭氏陽性及陰性的細菌有效。
Usual dose: IV/deep IM (for adults only)
Adult: 1-2 g q8-12h, max. 6 g/day.
Pediatric
(0-4 wks): 30 mg/kg q12h.
(1 mon-12 yrs): 30-50 mg/kg q8h, max. 6 g/day.
Precaution: may give IV bolus over 3-5 min.
Dose adjustment:
Renal impairment (adults): give initial 1 g IV loading dose; CrCl 31-50 ml/min, 1 g q12h; CrCl 16-30 ml/min, 1 g q24 h; CrCl 6-15 ml/min, 0.5 g q24h; CrCl < 5 ml/min, 0.5 g q48h.
Adverse effect:
Common: phlebitis, injection site pain, diarrhea, hypersensitivity reaction, rash.
Serious: asterixis, disease of brain, seizure.
