適應症:甲狀腺機能亢進症。

Usual dose:

Hyperthyroidism:

Adult: initial, 300-400 mg/day in divided doses q8h; (occasionally initial doses as high as 600-900 mg/day are necessary); maintenance, 100-150 mg/day in divided doses q8-12h.

Pediatric

(6-10 yrs): initial, 50-150 mg/day or 5-7 mg/kg/day in divided doses q6-8h.

(> 10 yrs): initial, 150-300 mg/day or 5-7 mg/kg/day in divided doses q6-8h; maintenance, 50 mg PO bid or 1/3-2/3 of the initial dose.

Precaution:

Bleeding disorders or easy bruising, liver disease (anorexia, pruritus, right upper quadrant pain, 3-fold elevation of transaminase levels).

Adverse effect:

Common: rash, leukopenia, fever.

Serious: hepatic necrosis, nephritis.
