適應症:緩解偶發性便秘、手術前、X光或內視鏡檢查前之腸灌洗。

Usual dose: PO, diluted with around 240 ml water or cold clear drink.

Constipation: 30 min before a meal or on an empty stomach.

Adult & children (≧12 years): Dilute 15 mL in 240 mL liqd & drink at least 240 mL. Max: 45 mL/24 hr.

Children: 10-11 years: Dilute 15 mL in 240 mL liqd & drink at least 240 mL. Max: 15 mL/24 hr.

Children:5-9 years: Dilute 7.5 mL in 240 mL liqd & drink at least 240 mL. Max: 7.5 mL/24 hr.

Bowel cleansing regimen

Prior to surgery or x-ray & endoscopic exam 45 mL in the evening before exam, 45 mL in the morning of exam.

Dilute recommended dose with 1/2 glass of water, drink then followed with 1 full glass of water.

Contraindication:

Congenital megacolon, intestinal obstruction or congestive heart failure; children < 5 years.

Precaution:

Renal disease or low salt diet.

Pregnancy, lactation. When nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, sudden change in bowel movement are present.

Discontinue if rectal bleeding.

Renal impairment, electrolyte imbalance, over-fatigue, co-administration of diuretics or other drugs affecting electrolyte imbalance.

Adverse effect:

Common: hyperphosphatemia, hypokalemia, abdominal bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting.

Serious: prolonged QT interval, tonic-clonic seizure, acute phosphate nephropathy, renal failure.
