Neurologic Drugs : Parkinsonism
OSWIT1 “Switane tablet” 2 mg/tab
OEATE1 “EA Ten oral sol’n” 0.4 mg/ml; 100 ml/bot
適應症:帕金森氏症候群。
Usual dose:
Parkinson’s disease:
Adult: initial, 1 mg the first day followed by increases of 2 mg increments at 3-5 day intervals to a total dose of 6-10 mg/day in 3-4 divided doses is recommended. Postencephalitic p’ts may require 12-15 mg/day.
Parkinsonism due to drug:
Adult: 5-15 mg as a total daily, initiated with a single 1mg dose. If the extrapyramidal manifestations are not controlled in a few h, subsequent doses may be progressively increased until satisfactory control is achieved.
Contraindication:
Narrow-angle glaucoma, pt’s < 3 yrs, tardive dyskinesias.
Precaution:
Administer with caution in hot weather, especially when given with other atropine-like drugs to chronically ill, alcoholics, those with central nervous system disease, or those who do manual labor in hot environment.
Cardiac, liver, or kidney disorders; elderly males with possible prostatic hypertrophy; obstructive disease of gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts.
Adverse effect:
Common: aptyalism, nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, nervousness.
Serious:angle-closure glaucoma, raised intraocular pressure, disorientation.
