OACET2 “Acetazolamide tablet” 250 mg/tab

適應症:青光眼;水腫、癲癇之輔助治療。

Usual dose:

Acute mountain sickness (treatment and prophylaxis):

Adult: 500-1000 mg/day, divided bid-qid; during rapid ascent, 1000 mg/day is recommended; initiate 24-48 h before ascent and continue for 48 h or longer while at high altitude.

Edema:

Adult: 250-375 mg qd in morning for 1 or 2 days, alternating with day of rest.

Epilepsy:

Adult: 8-30 mg/kg/day, divided q8-12h.

Pediatric: initial, 4 mg/kg/day ,maintenance, 8-30 mg/kg/day,divided q8-12h.

Glaucoma; adjunct:

Adult: 250-1000 mg qd-qid.

Pediatric: 8-30 mg/kg/day,divided q6-8h.

Dose adjustment:

Renal impairment: increase dosing interval to q6h with mild impairment (GFR > 50 ml/min), q12h with moderate impairment (GFR 10-50 ml/min), ineffective in severe impairment (GFR < 10 ml/min).

Geriatric: for glaucoma, 125 mg qid.

Contraindication:

Adrenal gland failure, chronic noncongestive angle-closure glaucoma, cirrhosis, hyponatremia/hypokalemia, hyperchloremic acidosis, severe hepatic or renal disease.

Adverse effect:

Common: weight loss, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, taste sense altered, vomiting, confusion, paresthesia, somnolence, depression, polyuria, malaise, sulfonamide adverse reaction.

Serious: metabolic acidosis, tinnitus.
