Hydroxyethyl Starch【C】

Hematological Agents : Blood Components and Blood Substituents
ITETR1Tetraspan 6% solution for infusion

Each ml contains sodium acetate trihydrate 3.27 mg, calcium chloride dehydrate 0.37 mg, magnesium chloride hexahydrate 0.2 mg, potassium chloride 0.3 mg, sodium chloride 6.25 mg, poly(o-2- hydroxyethyl)starch 60 mg, malic acid0.67 mg; 500 ml/bag

IVOLU1 “Voluven 6% solution for infusion

Each ml contains sodium chloride 0.9%, poly(o-2- hydroxyethyl)starch 60 mg; 500 ml/bag

適應症:單獨使用晶質輸注液無法治療之急性出血導致之低血容積病人,本品無法取代紅血球及血漿中的凝血因子。

Usual dose:

Adult:

Volume deficiency (hypovolemia) and shock (volume replacement therapy): initial 10-20 ml should be infused slowly.Up to 50 mL of Voluven® per kg of body weight per day (equivalent to 3 g hydroxyethyl starch and 7.7 mEq sodium per kg of body weight). This dose is equivalent to 3500 mL of Voluven® for a 70 kg patient.

Pediatric:

The dosage in children should be adapted to the individual patient colloid needs, taking into account the disease state, as well as the hemodynamic and hydration status. Children or infants (< 2 years), a mean dose of 16 ± 9 mL/kg was administered. In 31 children from 2 to 12 years of age a mean dose of 36 ± 11 mL/kg was administered. The dose in adolescents > 12 is the same as the adult dose.

Contraindication:

Severe congestive heart failure, renal failure (serum creatinine > 2 mg/dL and > 177 μmol/L), severe coagulation disturbances (except in life-threatening emergencies), excess fluid overload (hyperhydration) and severe lack of fluid (dehydration), p’t in dialysis, severe liver disease, severe hypernatremia or hyperchloremia, intracranial bleeding, starch allergy.

Precaution:

If p’t has anaphylactoid reactions, stop using Voluven immediately.

Elevated serum amylase levels may be ovserved temporarily following administration of Voluven.

At high dosages the dilutional effects may result in decreased levels of coagulation factors and other plasma proteins and a decrease in hematocrit.

Adverse effect:

Common: skin reactions, tachycardia, drop in blood pressure, vertigo, nausea, vomiting.

Serious: shock, bronchospasm, respiratory and cardiac arrest.
